The Team

Riot Cinema Collective

We are film lovers: we work with moving images, sound and design. We apply cinema concepts to every single thing we create (whether it be advertising, communication, design, film or breakfast).

We believe in: People over money. Cinema over money. Doing better than saying. Communication with our audience and clients as a “must do” among our “to do” list.

We like: risk and innovation in everything we do ("no play, no gain", we say). Change (we love plan B). Culture (better if it’s free). Our team.

Nicolás Alcalá

He once worked for 48 straight hours and his eyes started to glow. He likes so much cinema that he some times eats celluloid and projects it through his pupils. Occasionally a lousy poet, manages most of the directive work in Riot Cinema and writes weird visions (like the one about cosmonauts burning at the edge of a cliff). Oh, and he also likes bitten apple and he is also the director of the movie.

Bruno Teixidor

Trapped since 1999 in a stream of low definition formats, he adores his pixelvision, a small camera designed by Fisher Price in the 80's, intented for kids between the ages of 8 to 16. Amazing designer and raconteur, his knowledge about the most wonderful and bizarre imaginable things in illimitable. Everything related to the visual aspect of the Cosmonaut, it's his fault.

Carola Rodríguez

The main pillar of Riot Cinema. She is bipolar: During the day, she is like the a mom of a Nazi official: organized, efficient and the best at her work. During the night, she becomes a party animal and manages to dance everyone off to the floor until sun is up. She has a superpower: She manages to make anyone smile (for better or worse). Thanks to her organizing and production skills, we can all sleep peacefully each day.

Wendy Espinal y Carla Jovine

Hot blooded Dominicans with a sharp instinct for business give a practical touch to our production team.

Wendy has worked (and moved the skeleton) in productions such as Grease, Saturday Night Fever and The Latin Grammy Awards; Carla has worked in live concerts of artist such as Amaral or Lenny Kravitz.

They are in charge for The Cosmonaut going out to the street to have fun (events, concerts and parties are always in their hands).

Internet & Communication

Alberto López, Ramón Calderón, Hunter S. Tyler, Blanca Balanzó, Pol Rodríguez, Pepe García, Mario Orellana y Mari Trini Ginerare are responsible for representing The Cosmonaut all over the place. They stay up late making sure to update twitter, facebook, flickr and all of our social networks, apart from that, they also send press notes to those boring traditional journalists.

Besides them, the hard working translation team, led by Susie Saldanha.

Julia Blatún

Our own Russian angel and genius of international relations (he studied in the MGIMO, which is not a coded name for the lead role in the Gremlins but a prestigious University of international relations in Moscow). He always accomplished anything that he sets his mind on. Proof? The Spanish ambassador in Moscow send two authentic cosmonaut suits!

The Production Team is formed by: Miki, Javi, Antonio, Rady y Jaime. As we have not shoot any film, they are responsible for any other thing that need to get done: searching for conferences, prizes and funds; organizing events and parties... And, next to them is Miriam mira, they pack up day and night, as if Santa Claus elves, all the producers packages.

Vostok

It is an small but prestigious design and interaction studio in Madrid, with a international CV. They are crazy about order, elegance and simplicity, they collect Braun radios and dance to the rhythm of Bloody Beetroots each Friday.

They work for bigwigs such as Google or BBVA but also, for small companies. They valued, before anything else, the affinity of their client values and project that are challenging to achieve something beautiful.

Filmbakers

Post Production company with great experience in the world of publicity, cinema and digital video in general. They offer services that go from the simple digital film coloring to the best special effects and animation.

They have worked for Bigas Luna, Chapero Jackson or companies like Toyota or Telefónica, and a few months back they went on a hunger strike if the final spaceships of the movie would be done with scale models or digital technology.
